Due to the passage of time, the temple has gradually fallen into a state of disrepair. With deep devotion and a sense of responsibility, devotees have come forward to undertake the sacred renovation and the auspicious Kumbhabhishekam. For nearly seven decades, the temple has remained in a deteriorated condition. Inspired by the heartfelt prayers and unwavering faith of devotees, preparations are now underway to conduct the Kumbhabhishekam, with the target set for the year 2027. As we move forward towards the divine goal of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam, we humbly seek the wholehearted support, participation, and generous contributions of all devotees in the holy name of Bhagavan Sree Meenakshi Sundareswara Swami.

With the sacred Maha Kumbhabhishekam of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswara Swamy Temple approaching, the temple was blessed by the gracious support and divine blessings of the revered Acharyas from the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, one of the four principal monasteries established by Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya.

The esteemed Acharyas Sri Anantha Padmanabha Bhat and Sri Niranjan Bhat visited the temple, offering their wholehearted support, guidance, and blessings for the successful conduct of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam.

Throughout these sacred proceedings, Lord Subrahmanya Swamy, the presiding guardian deity of the temple, remained the temple's divine protector, bestowing His grace and safeguarding all the rituals and devotees.

As part of the commencement of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam celebrations at Linga Pattar Madam Sri Meenakshi Sundareswara Swamy Temple, the Balaalaya Prathishta of Lord Maha Ganapathi was performed with great devotion under the chief priesthood of Sri Niranjan Bag Bhatt, the eminent Tantri from Sringeri Math.

On the occasion of the Kumbhabhishekam at Sri Meenakshi Sundareswara Swami Temple, the chief Acharyas of Sringeri Math (Sharada Peetham) — one of the principal Mathas established by Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya — namely Ananthpadmanabha Bhatt and Niranjan Bhatt, visited the temple and offered their full support and blessings. Chief patron Subrahmanya Swami was also present.

Warm Reception for Sivacharya at Sri Meenakshi Sundareswara Swamy Temple

As part of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam preparations, the temple's Sivacharya arrived at Sri Meenakshi Sundareswara Swamy Temple for the first time. Sivakama Kalaimani Raju Sivacharya from Aduthurai Kasi Viswanatha Temple was accorded a traditional Poorna Kumbha reception at the temple. This was followed by Alankara Pooja and Deeparadhana under the guidance of the temple Thantri.

Foundation stone laying ceremony

As part of the Jeernoddharana and Ashtabandhana Maha Kumbhabhishekam of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswara Swamy Temple, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Nadapura of both temples was held today during the auspicious muhurtham. The ceremony was led by temple architect Mr. Mahesh Cherpulassery, and the foundation stone was laid by Sister Meenabahan of Brahma Kumaris, Palakkad. Devotees participated in large numbers.

Paduka installation ceremony

As part of the renovation of the historic Sri Meenakshi Sundareswara Swamy Temple in Palakkad, the Paduka installation ceremony of Sri Meenakshi Bhagavathi Temple was held today during the auspicious muhurtham. Poojaneeya Swami Krishnatmananda Saraswathi lit the ceremonial lamp, and the Paduka installation was performed by renowned Chartered Accountant Mr. K. Srinivasan and Mrs. Darshana Srinivasan.
